Rent a Clue is a puzzle box rental subscription service. Customers are charged for each puzzle box shipped. Boxes are typically sent approximately one month after the previous box is returned, provided there are no outstanding fees and a new puzzle box is available.
2. Subscription and Payment
Customers are charged on a per-box basis at the time of shipping.
Payment is processed securely via Stripe. If payment fails, we will notify you via email, and your subscription will be paused until payment is successfully reauthorized.
If no new puzzle boxes are available for you to receive, your subscription will be paused, and you will not be charged until a box becomes available.
Subscription fees cover the cost of shipping both to and from your address using Evri.
3. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time before a puzzle box is shipped.
If you cancel after a box has been shipped, you will not be eligible for a refund for that shipment.
If you cancel after paying for a box that has not yet been shipped, you will receive a full refund for that box.
4. Returns and Late Fees
Each puzzle box must be returned using the prepaid Evri label provided and must be sent back within one month of delivery.
Late Returns: If the puzzle box is not returned within one month, a late fee will be applied.
Lost Returns: If the box is lost during return shipping by Evri, you will not be held responsible.
5. Damage and Replacement Fees
You are responsible for keeping both the puzzle box and its packaging in good condition. Fees for damage will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be determined solely by Rent a Clue.
What constitutes "damage":
Structural damage, water damage, or dirtiness to the puzzle box's outer packaging.
Superficial damage to the puzzle box itself, such as water damage or dirtiness.
Fixable damage to the puzzle box that hinders its reusability.
Unfixable damage that prevents the puzzle box from being reused.
Fee Assessment: Customers will be notified via email of any fees due to damage, and the amount will be charged to the payment method on file.
6. Box Availability
A record of the boxes you have received will be kept.
If there are no puzzle boxes available that you have not already received, your subscription will be paused. You will not be charged until a new puzzle box becomes available.
You will be notified via email when your subscription resumes, and payment will be processed at that time.
7. Shipping Policies
Puzzle boxes are shipped via Evri and include a prepaid returns label for your convenience.
Rent a Clue is not responsible for delays in shipping. However, if your box arrives late, please contact us at hello@rent-a-clue.co.uk, and exceptions may be made on an ad hoc basis.
8. Subscription Termination
If you fail to return a puzzle box, fail to pay fees, or damage multiple boxes, your subscription may be paused or terminated at our discretion.
We reserve the right to terminate your subscription at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion.
9. Liability Disclaimer
Rent a Clue is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur while using a puzzle box. By using our service, you agree to hold Rent a Clue harmless for any incidental or consequential damages.
